I heard a story last night which so sums up how fortuante those of us are who are blessed to live in Small Town America that I jsut had to pass it along.
We live in that small, serene town mentioned above. This idyllic place was just named one of the ten most hospitable small towns in the State of Florida- and that’s really saying something!
Our friend told us of a very elderly neighbor ot theirs who was apparently well known and loved in the neighborhood. One day three - three! - City Policemen showed up at his house obviously trying to look in the windows. Upon seeing this, being concerned to what may be happening to their friend, some of the neighbors went over to see what the commotion was about. It turned out that someone had mentioned to one of the policemen that this gentleman had not been seen for a day or two and they had come to his house to check on him and be sure he was OK!
Now, if you knew a little more about this small town you would also know that three of its policemen represent a significant portion of ite entire police department but there they were to check on their friend and neighbor.
As I remember the story, it turned out that the elderly gentleman had been picked up by a family member and taken for a routine check up so there was no problem after all.
Not to tarnish such a beautiful story with a negative, but it is simply impossible to comprehend such a thing happening in the larger cities in America today, sad though it is to admit.
By the way, this small town, to which we often refer as “the bubble” and which has been our home for the past six years, I am proud to name:
Gulf Breeze, Florida!
It appears the DHS has a NGO ( Lighthouse Private Christian Academy) in Gulf Breeze, masquerading as a soccer training team from Brazil, with a F1 visa issue by DHS. The information reported in the Gulf Breeze News, 14 March, 2024, "Neighbors sound the alarm over youths," Is suspect for the following reasons. LPCA does not have a soccer team, faculty to house these youths were not up to code (OCCUPANTS exceeding code and conditions of housing). Supposedly they come from some of Brazil's family of high status. THAT ALSO IS SUSPICIOUS. Those "families " would insure their children would be house and fed in the best facilities. Not housing or dormitories that didn't meet fire codes or OCCUPANTS limits.
Let's keep it that way. Deltona use to be ideal place, and it grew. Now it's congested.
