The Boston Tea Party: 250 Years Since America’s First “Insurrection”?
As we try to deal with the daily dose of depravity which is the Biden “administration” with its attendant prostitution-themed White House Christmas celebration and the unspeakable acts which ocurred in the Senate Hearing Room (almost as abominable as some of the hearings themselves, now that I think about it), it is appropriate to pause and remember that yesterday was the 250th Anniversary of a signal moment in American history-one which some scholars peg as the very beginning of American history: The Boston Tea Party.
My purpose here is simply to guide those who may seek a very concise, well written piece on this significant moment to a fine piece in Real Clear Politics entitled, somewhat unfortunately in my opinion considering the course of American justice in the last few years, “Our First Insurrection? The Boston Tea Party at 250.”
Anyone with even a passing interest in American history will find this brief piece fascinating and I cannot recommend it too highly.
For those who do choose to peruse this short history lesson I have these questions: (1) What commonalities, if any, did that “mob” (the author’s word) on that ship in 1773 have with the mostly-peaceful and orderly protest on January 6 and (2) what parallels, if any, can be drawn from the “mob” of the Tea Party, which was clearly trying to overthrow a government, albeit tyrannical and dictatorial, to the so-called “armed insurrection” of January 6, which has proven through hundreds of persecutions (the word is advisedly used) to have been the most unsuccessful “armed” uprising in history as not one single firearm was ever found despite the maniacal efforts of the Biden “administration” to find just one, anywhere, in the most investigated “insurrection” of all time?
I know it’s a time of festive good times with friends and family and I loath briging a somber note into this “most wonderful time of the year “, but how many students in our time are exposed to even the rudimentary basics of The Tea Party covered by the piece referenced here ?
We are losing our very history. Can it, realistically, be reversed?
God Bless America!
